- All the elements hang on a handmade, toffee coloured silk/polyester chain, and on one of the rings hangs my silver name label.
- This mix of toffee and black makes this a versatile necklace.
- Starting at the top of the necklace, there is a handmade antique silver-on-hardened resin bead from Afghanistan. This octagonal silver bead uses the Afghan traditional, time-consuming technique of a type of silver making.
- This is followed by the antique jade Bi disc, a symbol of longevity and harmony. The jade disc presents a rich patina of honey/toffee tones. It measures 2” in diameter (5 cm) and 6mm deep.
- An antique black jade bead (16mm), deeply grooved, sits on top of a beautifully carved and perforated jade bead (25mm). It is in honey and caramel tones.
- Next, there is a vintage, black jade, Bi disc with dragon heads on either side of the disc (28mm).
- Finally, at the bottom of the necklace, hangs a vintage, silver, angel fish, made by the Karen hill tribes in Thailand, using 98% pure silver. It is 1 ½” (4cm) across and 1” (2.5cm) high.
- All the elements have silver spacer beads.
- The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
- The necklace measurers measures from top to bottom of the chain, 14” (35.5cm), with the added other elements, the necklace is 21” long (53cm).
