Subtle Lilac Jade Disc with Silver, Pearls & Amethyst, on Band Necklace

SKU: 2218
    • I love the subtlety of lilac jade.  It almost seems grey, but the lilac seeps through to give that lovely purple tinge to the jade. The Chinese treasure lilac jade, which always makes it highly in demand.

    • This is a Bi disc, a Chinese symbol of harmony and longevity.  But it also presents a clean, simple and yet quite chic profile.  The disc measures 1 ½” in diameter (4cm) and a thick, 8mm deep.

    • It hangs on a twist of silver baroque seed pearls (freshwater) and tiny amethyst beads (3mm).

    • On either said of the jade disc, sliding along the band, are two, deeply carved, heavy, silver cylinders (18mm x 11mm).  They are made by the Karen hill tribes in Thailand, using pure, 98% silver, and treating even a bead as if it were a piece of sculpture.

    • The elements all hang on a silver-grey multi-strand band of PVC covered stainless steel.

    • The clasp is magnetic stainless steel and my silver name label hangs on the band itself.

    • The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.

    • The necklace measures 17 ¼”(44 cm) around the band, with a pendant drop of 1 ½” (4 cm)
