Vibrant Lapis on Long Cranberry Silk Chain

- Lapis, if it is a good blue, (and this is), always draws attention. This is a vintage pendant. It is a brilliant, blue lapis, which has been carved with two dragons surrounding the “Shou” symbol for long life. This is a large piece of carved lapis, measuring 2 ½” long, 1 ¾” wide and 9mm deep.
- The lapis pendant is topped by a vermeil disc, followed by a rare, antique, Indonesian glass bead (20mm) in stripes of mat red, navy and cream.
- Above this bead and at the top of the necklace, are antique, 18K gold-on-hardened resin beads, made by Afghan artisans, using their ancient, time-consuming techniques. One etched melon bead is 14mm, and the smaller is 9mm.
- All the elements hang on a handmade, long, cranberry silk/polyester chain, and on one of the rings hangs my silver name label.
- The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
- The necklace measurers measures from top to bottom of the chain, 14” (35.5cm), with the added other elements, the necklace is 19” long (48.5cm).
