    • I have recently come across a dealer in metal detecting jewellery. All of his items are tested for age. This particular pendant was discovered in Hampshire, England. It has been tested to be, in fact, of the Tudor Dynasty in age (circa 1550 or earlier). It is made of bronze that has now been cleaned, and set with a slightly dull (having been buried for a good 500 years) garnet coloured, faceted glass. The pendant is on a swivel, almost like a fob, and has been crafted with lovely detail. It is 2.5 cm long and 2 cm wide. Garnet jewellery would have been quite costly, so the use of a garnet toned glass would have been a nice savings for a less wealthy, yet still proud Tudor lady.
    • I have designed a necklace that compliments the Tudor pendant and creates both a traditional and modern effect.
    • The necklace consists of faceted natural crystal cylinders (15.5mm x 20 mm), each with inclusions. Crystals with inclusions look more like natural stone as opposed to glass.
    • I have interspersed the crystals with vintage, faceted ruby coloured Czech glass (13.8 mm), and natural garnet beads 9.9 mm) and eight, vintage, handmade Afghan beads (14.5mm). These are (rare) 18K gold on brass on hardened resin, using the traditional Afghan techniques. These are made by the ancient Afghan craft of taking sheet metal and moulding it over hardened resin, a technique handed down through the craftsmen of Alexander the Great.
    • A vermeil toggle clasp has been used because toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.
    • The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
    • Length 45 cm (17 3/4") with a 2.5 cm  (1")pendant drop.
