    • When I first saw this antique Georgian (1820) cut-steel shoe buckle, I was smitten. With its faceted sparkle of the cut steel, made in a paisley shape with flowers and leaves, I could imagine an elegant Georgian lady choosing this for her exquisite shoes to parade in the “pleasure gardens” of London.
    • The buckle is just under 2 1/2 inches wide (6 cm) and 1 1/2 inches high (3.5 cm) and 2.5 mm deep.
    • The buckle is attached by tiny (2mm) cut and faceted silver beads, to a necklace of rock crystal and silver.
    • The rock crystal cylinders are rough cut and have inclusions, abrasions, crystallizations and have been left in a mat finish. They may look imperfect, but that is the intension and the natural state. I wanted to cut the sparkle with the mat and rough cut effect. The cylinders vary in size but are roughly 15 mm and 29 mm long.
    • In between the crystal, I was able to find these wonderful cut sterling silver beads (12 mm) in China. There are also brushed silver octagonal discs from India (16 mm) and two small Karen hill tribe beads (7 mm), which are handmade silver from Thailand.
    • I have used a silver toggle clasp. Toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.
    • The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with it's own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
    • The necklace is 19 inches long (48 cm)with a pendant drop of 1 3/4 inches (5 cm)
