Jade Dragon Echoes the Circle of Life in Necklace of Fluorite and Quartz
- This vintage, jade dragon, in tan/celadon tones, has been carved to create the image of a dragon eating its own tail. This is called “ouroboros” which represents the eternal circle of life, of destruction and rebirth, where life and energy are constantly transformed and renewed. It also represents the unity of all things, perpetually changing form. The wonderfully carved dragon is 4.5 cm (1 ¾”) in diameter, 7mm thick.
- Above it is an etched celadon jade bead,15mm
- Clear sea green fluorite enlivens the necklace, along with sky blue quartz melon beads, 25mm
- 4 antique mottled celadon jade beads, 15mm, bring the design together
- Knotted silk/polyester tan cord using traditional Chinese flat and button knots.
- 14ct. gold vermeil toggle clasps which are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached.
- The necklace comes, like all my necklaces with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocade pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
- The necklace measures 17” or 44cm, with a 3” pendant drop (7.5cm)
