- This lustrous jade swirl of a dragon has both a tactile feel and a sense of movement. The jade has a lovely soft, almost sage colour with a few veins of the brown rock from which the jade emerged. It is 2” long (5cm) and 1” wide (2.5 cm). This dragon is playful, which is a characteristic of the dragon, which is also an emblem of the Emperor.
- Above the pendant sits a hand-crafted, fair trade, sterling silver bead (15 mm) made by the Karen hill tribes in Thailand, using 98% pure silver. It is deeply grooved in a swirl-like design.
- A carved ball within a ball bead (12mm), in green aventurine is the next element.
- The handmade charcoal silk/polyester band’s clasp consists of a jade bead which fits into one of two stretchable silk rings, enabling the wearer to vary the length. My silver label is attached at the ring.
- The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.
- The necklace measures 17” long (43cm) but the rings add 1 ½” to the length, with a 3 ½” pendant drop (9 cm)
